A native of Missouri, Charles W. Perry served as a First Lieutenant in the 120th Infantry, 30th Division ("Old Hickory"). Arriving in France in June 1918, Perry's group became some of the first Americans in Belgium and later lead the breaking of the Hindenburg Line in September 1918.
