The Spirit of Enterprise : High Point's 1923 Pageant of Progress
Caption:
The Pageant of Progress was intended, in the words of its planners, to "show the progress the people have made from the time of the Indian to the present." Eight different periods were portrayed by costumed reenactors, most of them volunteers from civic or fraternal societies. Here, High Point members of the Red Men and Greensboro members of the Order of Pocahontas perform a history of The Indian Period.
