On October 25, 1923, High Point's citizens gathered to parade in celebration of the completion of US 421, the Boone to Wilmington Highway. This first Pageant of Progress also showcased periods in North Carolina history and the development of transportation. The parade's theme was symbolized by this float, which depicts Father Time Marking the Passing of the Years. It is attended by students from High Point High School.
