Caption:
Male students enrolled in the Institute's vocational training program were responsible for constructing all of the buildings on campus. In 1897, when Professor Griffin arrived, only one building existed to provide pupils with lodging, dining, and classroom facilities. The campus soon expanded to include dormitories, a barn, blacksmith shop, laundry, and cottage for the teachers.
