52 Weeks of Community Memories, Part 1 : High Point Historical Society celebrates 50 years
Caption:
A parade of suffragettes makes its way down South Main Street. The High Point Equal Suffrage League formed in May 1919, shortly before Congress passed the Nineteenth Amendment to the U. S. Constitution. North Carolina's legislature voted against ratification, but women still gained their voting privileges for the 1920 elections.
