High Point's Chamber of Commerce officially organized on January 1, 1919, and built the World's Largest Bureau (also called the World's Largest Chest of Drawers) for an office, in 1926. The Bureau served as a backdrop for many community photographs, as shown by this photograph of the local International Order of the Odd Fellows in the 1930s.
