Caption:
New tools and technology revolutionized home sewing. Threading a needle, for example, can be a difficult maneuver, even for an experienced seamstress, and a needle threader speeds the process. A needle threader consists of a flexible, diamond shaped wire attached to a decorative handle. The wire is inserted into the eye of a needle, and a loop of thread goes through the diamond. The wire is reversed through the needle's eye, pulling the thread with it and threading the needle.

Gift of Mrs. Katherine M. Nibblelink.
