From 1933 to 1940, High Point native Melzetta Fowler Adams Williams taught at Leonard Street School. She graduated from the High Point Normal and Industrial School (later William Penn High School) in 1924 and from Winston Salem Teachers College (formerly Slater Industrial and State Normal School). On the reverse of this photograph taken around 1965, she noted her retirement year was 1971.

Mrs. Williams celebrated her 106th birthday in 2013. [Mrs. Williams passed away in 2015.]
