The Wrenn Street Wing, a seven-story annex connected to the main building by ramps, was begun in 1957. The Green Drive Wing, located to its south, was the largest construction contract awarded in North Carolina in 1966, yet it was open for Market by autumn 1967. The International Home Furnishings Center (IHFC) was built in 1974. Additions made to the IHFC in 1982 and 1987 filled the remainder of the block.
