Postcard, "May You Have a Merry Christmas." One of a collection of holiday postcards sent to Miss Lena Ritenberry of High Point in the early 1900s.
The postcard is sent from Thomasville, NC, and addressed to "Miss Lena Ritanbary/High Point/NC." The inscription on the reverse of the postcard reads: "Hello Miss Lena/ how are you injoying/ your self this good weather Miss Lena/ I wood like to see you/ I wood be glad to exchange letters with/ you, plese answere/ soon I saw hattie/ the other day but/ lula is gone/ From a friend/ Guess" On the front is the note, "you look good to me."
We do not know if the sender was successful in his pursuit of Miss Lena, however a Christmas postcard sent to her two years later (1911) queried if Miss Lena were to married soon!
