VE Exhibit Label 2:
High Point's centennial celebration lasted an entire week - July 8 - 14, 1951 - and commemorated the start of local construction on the North Carolina Railroad in 1851 with three parades and six nightly, sold-out performances of a pageant, "High Point Then & Now." This "Wheel of Beauty" float passes spectators along the 300 block of North Main Street.
